January casino wins increase - 2003-03-12
Nevada casinos won $844.5 million from gamblers in January, a bolster of 10.2 percent from January 2002, the state made known today.
But Gov. Kenny Guinn performed an ongoing cry of the fiscal blues.
Frank Streshley, senior research analyst for the board, announced that the Super Bowl, once the best weekends of the year for casinos, was postponed last January to February as a result of the Sept. 11 attack.
