Lawmakers inquire about existence of gambling bids - 2003-03-12
Even though Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has been pushing for it, legislative leaders say chances are rare that any measures to develop more gambling will be talked about this session.

Sebelius is expected to involve a provision for additional gambling at Kansas racetracks in her proposals for totalling an estimated budget shortfall of nearly $1 billion.

Nine are confronted with gambling charges in bust - 2003-03-12
Nine people have been taken into custody after being linked with a gambling raid that occurred in Oakmont last fall. Duke’s Tavern, Carnivores, Steve’s Inn and Ronnie’s Bar — all in Oakmont — were linked to the raid.

Misdemeanor charges have been issued against the owners and bartenders who were working at the time due to the three-month investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.
