Assembly vote on compacts bill will likely today - 2003-03-12
A Senate committee voted collectively Tuesday to approve a bill that would grant lawmakers the final say over gaming compacts settled between the governor and American Indian tribes that span beyond 15 years or expand gambling to off-reservation sites.

The Assembly is scheduled to vote today on its version of the bill, which the Assembly Committee on State Affairs approved Monday following a three-hour public hearing. The Senate is expected to vote on the bill Thursday.
