CHRB permits Idaho casino to maintain simulcasts - 2003-03-12
Days after instructing all California tracks to end simulcasts to Coeur d’Alene casino in Worley, Idaho, the California Horse Racing Board notified the state’s racetracks on Tuesday that the casino can rejoin the state’s simulcast betting program.

The CHRB ruled that the Native American casino had stopped taking wagers from California citizens.

January casino wins increase - 2003-03-12
Nevada casinos won $844.5 million from gamblers in January, an increase of 10.2 percent from January 2002, the state announced today.

But Gov. Kenny Guinn was continuing to cry the fiscal blues.

Frank Streshley, senior research analyst for the board, revealed that the Super Bowl, once the best weekends of the year for casinos, was delayed last January to February due to the Sept. 11 attack.
