Gambling organizer pleads guilty - 2003-03-13
An individual involved with gambling for quite some time in Pennsylvania made a return to federal court to plead guilty over operating a gambling conspiracy that netted him as much as $2.5 million annually, according to prosecutors.

Adolph "Junior" Williams, 69, of Scott Township, on Monday confessed to his role as coordinator of an illegal gambling racket and also pleaded guilty to charges of violating federal tax laws.

Japan Seeks Casinos, Gambling Culture - 2003-03-13
Ichiro Tanioka, 46, chairman of Japan’s “first academic society dedicated to the study of gambling and gaming” has arranged to “help establish a gambling culture in Japan.”

'We learn about life through experiencing little wins and losses,” Tanioka stated. “Because there's no gambling culture ingrained in our society, many people went too far during the bubble period and ended up gambling their way to failure."
