Gaming business to arrange summit in April - 2003-03-15
A summit for the casino, lottery, racing and other gambling trades will be happening next month at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany, N.Y.

The summit, which sold out with over 300 partakers last year, has been extended with an additional seminar and greater space.

State Senate authorizes several gaming compact bills - 2003-03-15
The state Senate authorized a bill Thursday providing themselves with oversight over some gaming compacts negotiated with American Indian tribes and delivered it to Gov. Jim Doyle, preparing a second veto showdown in less than a month.

The bill approved Thursday would require legislative approval for various tribal gaming compacts that endure more than 15 existing years or extends gambling to off-reservation sites.
