Park Place Casino operator selling notes - 2003-03-19
Park Place Entertainment Corp. of Las Vegas, the principal U.S. casino company, will be selling $300 million of 10-year notes, people aware of the sale notified Bloomberg News.

Park Place will use the funds accumulated through the sale to pay bank debt, sources reported. Bank of America Corp. and Deutsche Bank AG are managing the sale.

Former Aladdin hotel-casino executive breaks his silence - 2003-03-19
One-time Aladdin Chief Executive Richard Goeglein were aware that the $1.2 billion hotel was in trouble before launching. He knew that when he watched the casino floor being built 9 feet above the Las Vegas Strip sidewalk level -- a creative oddity that dissuaded tourists from entering.

"And he said, 'Oh, that's the casino.' And I said, 'No, no, no, that can't be the casino.' And he said, 'I swear to you it's the casino.'
