Decision postponed for Chicago casino - 2003-03-21
As negotiations proceed in a deal to sell the existing license of the bankrupt Emerald Casino, Illinois Gaming Board members have postponed a hearing intended to retract the casino's license.

Blagojevich has stated selling Emerald's license and getting a tenth casino in Illinois operational is critical to assist filling the state's estimated $5 billion budget deficit.

South African Gaming Group Reports Rise In Earnings - 2003-03-21
South African gaming group Gold Reef Casino Resorts (GDF) has indicated a 20% rise in basic headline earnings every share (HEPS) for the year to end-December 2002, to 50.3 cents from 42 cents the last year.

The group, which has small stakes in casinos like Gold Reef City, Golden Horse, Casino Mykonos and the Garden Route casino, disclosed a maiden dividend of 15 cents per share.
