Historic $39 million jackpot won in Vegas casino - 2003-03-22
A Southern California software engineer in town to see the NCAA basketball tournament won the largest slot machine jackpot in history on Friday and is expected to receive over $39.7 million, officials reported.
The lucky winner, whose name was not divulged at his request, hit the Megabucks Jackpot about 1:30 p.m. at the Excalibur hotel-casino, stated Rick Sorensen, a spokesman for slot machine maker, International Game Technology.
