The House Ethics Committee, which is comtemplating a complaint against Rep. Arlon Lindner for remarks he made asking whether gays were persecuted in the Holocaust, will contemplate procedures for dealing with the complaint.

Bills legalizing non-tribal casino gambling — HF646 and HF171 — go to the House Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs Committee.

Hotel dismisses, then reappoints - 2003-03-24
The whole 270-member staff of the Renaissance Miami Biscayne Bay hotel north of downtown was fired Friday by one management company and then reappointed to their jobs by another shortly after.

Lead by David Buddemeyer, the 13-year-old hotel, resort and casino management and development firm centered on under-performing properties. The company supervises 14 properties in the United States and Bahamas. This will be its first of its kind in Miami.
