Red Cliff ends decade-old casino plans - 2003-03-25
Ray DePerry, chairman of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, is more strong-minded than ever to conclude a hotel and casino plan that started over 10 years ago and has been postponed until now.

In 1994, the tribal community passed a referendum to construct a new casino and hotel on the lakefront across from the current casino, but because of grim financial problems in the late 1990s, the plans had to be put on hold.
