Iowa wins legal fight on casino tax rates - 2003-06-10
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday granted Iowa politicians a victory in the debate over how riverboat and racetrack casinos are taxed, but the case is not yet concluded.
The nation's highest court unanimously overturned an Iowa Supreme Court ruling that Iowa had unconstitutionally imposed a higher tax rate on slot machine revenue at horse and dog tracks than on revenue from identical slots aboard gambling boats.
