Reno betting outdoor activities will increase business - 2003-06-10
For decades in Reno, business success was based on a business plan of keeping them indoors.
It was heresy to recommend that the gambling business could profit from allowing customers to slip away from the slot machines and backjack tables.

Now, as competition grows from casinos on tribal lands in nearby California and elsewhere, Reno sees its future in enticing individuals who want, at least part of the time, to be outdoors.

KC-area casinos' results mixed in May - 2003-06-10
For the second-straight month, two Kansas City-area casinos enjoyed greater revenue and two reported lower revenue in May compared with last year.

The Kansas City market as a whole reported revenue of over $52.3 million in May, up less than 1 percent from more than $51.9 million a year ago, the Missouri Gaming Commission announced Tuesday. This breaks a two-month stretch of declining revenue for the Kansas City market.
