Racetracks rallying to get casinos - 2004-01-01
Kentucky racetracks, horse-men and breeders are offering a proposal at the General Assembly for a constitutional amendment to permit casino gambling at tracks.
The horse groups state their projections indicate gambling at the eight tracks could produce over $500 million a year in taxes beginning in mid-2005, in time for the second half of the approaching budget cycle.
