Genting chairman passes on Asia's largest casino group - 2004-01-01
Lim Goh Tong, 86, the founder of Genting, has stepped down as chairman of the company, Asia's biggest casino group.

The move is seen as the end of the elder Lim's 35-year career at the business that he built into a group with a market value of 11.9 billion ringgit, or $3.13 billion.

Court backpedals on casino decision - 2004-01-01
The Illinois Appellate Court decided Tuesday that state regulation required gambling legislators to renew a license held by Emerald Casino, which had hoped to launch in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont.

The decision arrives as the bankrupt casino warms up to sell its license, which the Illinois Gaming Board has been attempting to strip from Emerald since January 2001...
