Larger slot payoff may lure votes in House - 2004-01-10
A Republican leader in the Kansas House promised Friday to back a bill to authorize slot machines at dog and horse tracks and state-owned casinos in Dodge City and near Junction City.

The state would own the casinos in Dodge City and close to Junction City, but contract with private management businesses.

Downtown relocation attracts Greyhound - 2004-01-10
Bus riders wanting to get on a Greyhound line in Montgomery could be doing it from downtown rather than on the west side.
"I'd like the freedom to see stuff that I've never seen before," confessed Morgan, 20, a casino worker.

Montgomery's municipal bus station and car park are expected to be done by August or September 2005 at a cost of about $15 million.
