Reno's Ben Dasher passes on at age 86 - 2004-01-12
Longtime community chief Benedict "Ben" Dasher, who assisted in saving casino magnate William F. Harrah's automobile collection in Reno, died Saturday at a Reno hospital. He was 86.

His health quickly declined once he entered the hospital Thursday, stated his son, Mike.

Borgata earnings buoyed A.C. within December - 2004-01-12
Gaming earnings in the resort increased roughly 2.9 percent in December compared with the same month in 2002.
But omit the nearly $38 million produced by the Borgata Casino Hotel & Spa and revenues fell 9.3 percent.

On the outside, the results seem dreadful, according to Harry C. Curtis, a gaming analyst with J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. in New York.
