Arnold’s No Action Star In Vegas - 2004-01-13
Rod Smith has penned in the Las Vegas Wire that the plans of former action star and weight lifter, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to stretch tribal gaming across the state where he is now governor could damage markets in Nevada.

The Republican governor has appointed Daniel Kolkey, an executive with former Republican Governor Pete Wilson, to steer negotiations being held between the state and Indian casino operators.

Group coordinates against Iowa casino - 2004-01-13
A group of locals in Webster County is constructing a grassroots effort in opposition of legalized riverboat gambling.

About 60 people participated in the group's first meeting last week, where they listened to gambling proponents who debated a casino would bring economic growth to the region.
