Chicago court to consider Hudson casino proposal - 2004-01-13
A federal appeals court in Chicago will listen to arguments Friday in a legal battle regarding three Chippewa tribes' efforts to launch a casino at the defunct greyhound race track in Hudson.

The bands of the Lake Superior Chippewa Tribe (The Red Cliff, Lac Courte Oreilles and Mole Lake) developed a partnership to purchase St. Croix Meadows Greyhound Racing Park in Hudson and add a Las Vegas-style casino.

The Downtown Casino at the Plaza of Nations, a partnership between the Royal Diamond and Grand Casino groups, is targeting 600 slots, 60 gaming tables and a cafe.
