Nevada casino gambling earnings rose 4.3 percent in November from a year earlier, regulators disclosed on Tuesday.

Around Las Vegas, downtown casinos rose 4.5 percent to $52.3 million from $50.0 million, the Boulder Strip was up 16.6 percent to $53.0 million from $45.4 million and North Las Vegas rose 44 percent to $19.3 million from $13.4 million.

Shingle Springs casino project angers lawmakers - 2004-01-13
California lawmakers are asking to convene this week with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's staff over building a casino-hotel in Shingle Springs, with the hope the governor will cancel the project.

The casino would require authorization of an interchange off Highway 50 between Cameron Park and Placerville. The proposal for the offramp was rejected in December by a Sacramento judge for another air quality study.
