State's minor casinos witnessing rough period - 2004-01-14
All four of Missouri's casinos on the exterior of the St. Louis and Kansas City regions saw a decrease in attendance in December, a fact that analysts say is a result of the lagging economy in non-urban communities.
The state's 11 casinos attracted 4.36 million patrons last month, according to statistics from the Missouri Gaming Commission, up 5 percent from the 4.17 million who gambled in December 2002.
