Summit aspire to lure fire service with casino earnings - 2004-01-14
Summit officials are using potential casino profits to entice Bedford Park to supply fire service in Summit.
"We may be your poor sister today, but we may not be your poor sister tomorrow," Summit Trustee Louis Dineff informed the Bedford Park fire committee on Tuesday night.

Purchase of Horseshoe may come with a price - 2004-01-14
The purchase of Binion's Horseshoe could be pivotal to making Harrah's Entertainment the largest gaming operator, but end up costing downtown Las Vegas a world famous brand and the hallmark World Series of Poker.

When the deal finalizes, Harrah's will pick up the brand name, the World Series of Poker and the Horseshoe's downtown casino-hotel, Harrah's spokesman Gary Thompson declared Tuesday.
