World Series of Poker will proceed but location is in limbo - 2004-01-14
The popular World Series of Poker will move ahead this year but where the cards are dealt remains uncertain, new owner Harrah's Entertainment stated Tuesday.

Harrah's also obtained the casino's legendary name in Nevada and agreed to take on the downtown Las Vegas property's debts, which forced the casino to shut down Saturday.

Oakland's Grobe appointed Iowa Foundation president - 2004-01-14
Lynn Grobe, an Oakland region farmer and businessman, has succeeded John P. Nelson of Council Bluffs as president of the nine-member, casino-funded Iowa West Foundation board.

The Iowa West Foundation is one of the biggest in the Midwest. Recent reports indicated the foundation's assets at over $150 million.
