Several Calif. tribes consider casino payments to state - 2004-01-15
Some California Indian tribes softened their resistance to paying more casino profits to the state on Wednesday after the new governor reduced his expectations for such payments...

Some leaders of casino-operating tribes who met at an annual conference in the California resort city of Palm Springs east of Lost Angeles stated that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's reduced goal of $500 million in revenue from casinos was good move, if perhaps still high.
