Minicasino abolishment tackle returns to court - 2004-01-16
Pierce County defended its ban on minicasinos before the state Court of Appeals on Thursday, declaring it's a public good permitted by state law.

But that doesn't make up for the "enormous financial damage" the abolishment applies to Paradise Village Bowl & Casino in Parkland, countered Lois Meltzer, the minicasino's attorney.

Casino-hunting tribes land claim spreads across Colorado - 2004-01-16
In an outstanding proposal, two American Indian tribes have prepared a detailed claim to 27 million acres in Colorado they say they will trade for a new, 500-acre reservation where they can construct a casino.

The plan asks for dropping claims to the land in exchange for a parcel upon which to construct a $150 million casino, travel center and cultural center.
