Employees were continuing to come in Tuesday to get their checks and so were people who bought winning sports tickets before Binion's Horseshoe was shut down Friday.

Casino executives spent the day finalizing the sale. And a Harrah's representative informed Eyewitness News that they have been bargaining to purchase the casino since September, but the closing of the casino on Friday facilitated the deal.

Two city commissions pick Pinnacle's casino project - 2004-01-16
The Port Authority of St. Louis and the Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority unanimously defended a $200 million casino proposal by Pinnacle Entertainment Thursday.

Pinnacle's project is offered for the same region where President Casinos Inc. has the President Casino on Laclede's Landing. President Casinos is now bankrupt.
