Cal City supports Country Club Hills casino - 2004-01-16
Calumet City is supporting a Country Club Hills casino proposition.
The decision arrived Wednesday night, less than a week after Calumet City Mayor Michelle Markiewicz Qualkinbush revealed her city can no longer afford efforts to bring a casino here.

Crestwood had a settlement with Trump Hotels to locate a casino and hotel on 42 acres of land along Cal-Sag Road between Cicero and Kostner avenues.

Raceway given approval to install VLTs - 2004-01-16
Monticello Raceway has the official approval to install its video lottery terminals.
The New York State Lottery, which will manage the slot-like machines, just gave the harness track its temporary VLT license.

That means the track, which is also scheduled to host a Cayuga Indian casino, can seriously begin to change itself into a "racino."
