St. Louis suggests Pinnacle for new casino - 2004-01-17
Two St. Louis city development commissions on Thursday recommended Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. to run a downtown casino complex, nudging out a rival proposal by Isle of Capri Casinos Inc.

St. Louis and St. Louis County stated they want to pursue casinos together to aid each other in generating better proposals, believing state gaming regulators were likely to authorize a two-boat, city-county venture from the same company than a single, county-only casino.

Harrah's anticipates Behnen signature - 2004-01-17
Three days after Harrah's Entertainment Inc. stated it had reached a preliminary settlement to purchase the legendary Binion's Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas, Horseshoe owner Becky Behnen has yet to sign a final contract to transfer ownership to the casino giant.

A final purchase agreement was given to Behnen early Tuesday but is still unsigned, according to a source familiar with the deal who asked not to be named.
