Although gambling pays the bills, Cocopah Casino aims to make its food service anything but a gamble.

"One of the ways that we can draw customers here is by trying to go upscale with our amenities — our food service, bars and entertainment and such," stated Alex Arellano, food and beverage director at Cocopah Casino. "One of the reasons why we place so much emphasis on doing it the best we can is that our amenities are one of the things we have complete control over, whereas the gaming (slot machines, etc.) is pretty standard throughout the casino industry."

Tribes observes Central City for possible casino - 2004-01-18
Two Indian tribes in Oklahoma report that they are deliberating over whether to give up their claim on 27 million acres in Colorado in exchange for property in Central City, where they would establish a casino.

The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes stated that Central City officials have offered to let them locate their so-called "Homecoming Project" in the tough gaming community.
