Senate leader wants casino assistance for horse racing - 2004-01-18
State Senate President Richard Codey reported some sort of casino-industry contribution to horse racing would eventually happen.

"We need some kind of agreement to increase purses from Atlantic City," explained Codey, D-Essex, the top-ranking member of the state Legislature. "It's the right thing to do."

Casinos contribute $30 million to state from slot earnings - 2004-01-18
Connecticut’s two casinos sent over $30 million to the state from their December slot machine revenues, driving the total up to over $200 million dollars in the past six months.

Mohegan Sun contributed $16.5 million from slot revenues of $66 million, while Foxwoods Resort Casino presented $13.7 million from slot revenues of $54.6 million.
