Tennessee retailers put faith in new lottery - 2004-01-19
For years, Tony Kim observed as customers looking to purchase gas, snacks or cigarettes bypassed his store here and crossed the state line into Kentucky in search of one product he couldn't offer: lottery tickets.

Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, Louisiana and South Carolina have state lotteries. Mississippi is home to the casino region of Tunica, while Alabama has dog racing and Arkansas boasts dog and horse racing. Cherokee Indians operate a casino in North Carolina.

Campbell's comment is what Dem wants to hear - 2004-01-19
If U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell no longer wants to be a senator, Democrats insist they'd like helping.

Campbell, a Northern Cheyenne and the only Indian in the Senate, informed The Post that he felt targeted by the media for questions concerning a casino proposed by the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes of Oklahoma for Colorado.
