Fight over Pierce County, Minicasino Abolition Heads to Court, Again - 2004-01-19
Pierce County supported its prohibition on minicasinos before the state Court of Appeals on Thursday, stating the it's a public good permitted by state law.

"It is recriminalizing something that has been criminal in the past," insisted deputy prosecutor Bertha Fitzer.
But that doesn't resolve the "enormous financial damage" the ban has inflicted on Paradise Village Bowl & Casino in Parkland, countered Lois Meltzer, the minicasino's attorney.
