Aberdeen beach could soon possess three casinos within yards of each other once it emerged yesterday that another business wants to establish a seafront gambling centre.

It has acquired endorsement from local businesses, although fears have been highlighted about the effect of increased opportunities for gambling, with long ranks of Las Vegas-style slot machines likely to overpower the casino.

Ontario casinos take huge hit - 2004-01-19
Hospitality and tourism factors in the Niagara region of southern Ontario were a tad unlucky for two gaming businesses.

Based on second quarter statistics researched by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., attendance and earnings at both Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls and slot machine operations at Fort Erie Racetrack were off, in various cases by as much as 28 percent.
