Summit must unveil potential casino site - 2004-01-23
Summit officials claim that the site of a proposed casino in the village has not been chosen and therefore cannot be revealed.

Seven companies handed in applications on Monday to the Illinois Gaming Board expecting to win the state's 10th casino license, which was granted to the Emerald Casino in Rosement in 1999 but revoked in 2001.

It's Official: Harrah's Owns Binion's Horseshoe - 2004-01-23
The agreement is final and a downtown landmark is all lit up again, but now it's Harrah's that will pay the costl. Binion's Horseshoe has a new owner, and hundreds of former workers have expect that they'll get their old jobs back.

Harrah's will have the property prepared for the World Series of Poker tournament in April. Officials say ex-employees will have first dibs on staffing the downtown casino.
