Gov chooses Gaming Board member - 2004-01-24
Gov. Blagojevich on Friday disclosed his first appointment to the state panel that oversees casinos, and he sought a registered Republican voter from Lake County to fill a seat that's been available for 10 months.

Fanning, 48, comes at a key time, with the five-member panel looking into seven companies' bids to purchase a dormant gaming license held by Emerald Casino Inc. and move it to either Waukegan, Des Plaines, Rosemont, Summit or Country Club Hills.
