Lytton Pomos and state convene over sharing funds - 2004-01-24
California's deficit-ridden general fund may soon be receiving an infusion of Indian casino money, stated an attorney for a Sonoma County tribe featured in negotiations with the governor's office.

Whether Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger gets the $500 million earmarked in his budget from the casinos remains to be seen, stated Tony Cohen, attorney for the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians, one of seven tribes that started talks this week with Daniel Kolkey, the governor's lead negotiator.

Blagojevich takes seat on Illinois Gaming Board - 2004-01-24
Governor Rod Blagojevich has taken an open position on the state panel that oversees casinos.

The governor yesterday assigned an accountant and business consultant William E. Fanning, of Vernon Hills. He'll replace Illinois Gaming Board member Ira Rogal, who quit March 19th.

Fanning comes at a time when the board will be making a key ruling.
