Governor, Narragansett chief in battle over casino - 2004-01-24
After several months of unsuccessful relations and cooperation, the state's governor and the chief of the Narragansett Indian tribe are fighting once again over the tribe's effort to construct a casino.

Gov. Don Carcieri again made his opposition to the casino concept known earlier this week.

Wisconsins make efforts towards Vernon site - 2004-01-24
The Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin is still conducting a feasibility study pertaining to its plans to build a 250-acre parcel of land in the town of Vernon and has revealed that it has plans to purchase more land in New York state soon.

The property is sited on Route 31 between the New York Oneidas' Turning Stone Casino Resort and the planned Vernon Downs casino.
