Census shows gaming drops to 10th most popular job - 2004-01-24
Gaming continues a popular occupation in Las Vegas but has almost fallen out of the leading 10 employment categories in Washoe County, according to recently released U.S. Census Bureau information.

At age 56, craps dealer Carol Beeghly of Carson City has been employed in casinos for half her life.
She’s has worked as a dealer since 1975 and has worked at the Carson Nugget for 23 years.

Authorities recognize man in casino parking garage accident - 2004-01-24
Authorities on Friday acknowledged an 83-year-old driver who may have pushed the gas instead of the brake before catapulting a car off the fourth floor of a downtown casino parking garage, killing himself and his wife.

“We believe it was just a tragic accident,” Las Vegas police Detective Doug Nutton reported about the 4:45 p.m. Thursday crash at the Golden Nugget hotel-casino. Investigators suspect Yago may have accidentally stepped on the accelerator.
