Kent-based tribe awaits acceptance ruling - 2004-01-25
The Schaghticoke Tribal Nation is awaiting a ruling about its federal recognition status, over a year after being rejected by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Velky explained that the tribe would disclose more information about its financial backers when it is recognized, and that it is still seeking a community to host a casino.

Each month, the Mississippi State Tax Commission releases the amount of money state-licensed casinos won within the previous month.
