Bolton casino receives greenlight - 2004-01-26
A casino and bingo complex in Bolton town centre has been given permission amid accusations that councillors washed their hands of the decision.

A government inspector gave authorization for the £8 million plan for a Mecca Bingo and a Grosvenor Casino in the old Sainsbury's building in Flash Street, Bolton.
It was left to the investigator because councillors failed to make a decision in two months.

Tribe envisions entertainment district - 2004-01-26
Expecting to revive the downtown region, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is offering a revision to the city’s master plan that could turn a square mile of land into an entertainment district featuring high-rise hotels, shopping malls, restaurants and a recreational venue.
The group has been handing fliers around town touting tribal plans to add a second casino, golf course and observation towers.
