Mirage to Purchase Gaming Company Wembley - 2004-01-28
MGM Mirage, one of the largest casino companies in the United States, agreed yesterday to buy Wembley plc, the British parent of Lincoln Park, for an estimated $490 million.
The settlement also offers MGM, one of the best-known casino managers in the United States, a foothold for expansion in England. MGM, which owns the Bellagio casino and New York-New York in Las Vegas, will control Wembley's six greyhound racing tracks in the United Kingdom when the acquisition is done.
