New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey charmed Wall Street gaming analysts Monday night with a courageous pro-casino, pro-Atlantic City message.

McGreevey, however, was in no position to take over what his colleague across the Delaware River are requesting - 36,000 slot machines in Pennsylvania.

An increase in tax demanded for tourism - 2004-01-28
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau wants to add a 1 percent hotel tax increase as part of any plan to pay for a $72.4 million develop to the Coast Coliseum and Convention Center.

Right now, casinos are offering discount rooms as a way to attract visitors and maintain occupancy rates high.
