The owners of Lincoln Park revealed plans Tuesday to sell the greyhound racetrack/slot machine parlor to a Las Vegas-based casino giant for almost a half-billion dollars.

He cautioned, however, that the introduction of new ownership at Lincoln Park would not change his mind about endorsing construction of a resort-style casino in the state.

State earnings slightly under budget predictions - 2004-01-28
Though sales taxes have reached nearly double expectations, state earnings for the first six months of the fiscal year were a little below the projections used to construct the 2003-05 budget, the Legislature’s fiscal analysts reported Tuesday.

Analysts don’t expect gaming tax revenue to go beyond projections for the rest of the year. Because of the way casino taxes are gathered, the revenue increase can appear artificially high early in the year, Comeaux stated.
