6 resident tribes go after off-site casinos - 2004-01-29
Six North Coast tribes are attempting to stretch the traditional boundaries for Indian gaming by seeking authorization to launch casinos in the Bay Area and in other locations outside their current tribal lands.

"Right now we have an explosion of tribes seeking off-reservation casinos," explained Cheryl Schmit of Penryn, director of Stand Up For California, a gambling regulator.

Rainmaker development on schedule as planned - 2004-01-29
The $99 million Rainmaker Casino expansion at Foxwoods is on schedule for a launch around mid-summer, just in time for the high slot revenue months.

Crews have commenced shipping in pre-made concrete walls for the expansion's 2,100-vehicle garage. Steel for the casino and the Hard Rock Cafe that will added to the expansion has already been put up.
