Panel make request for 2 stadiums - 2004-01-30
Gov. Tim Pawlenty's stadium commission will instruct him to go after new homes for the Twins and Vikings this year, but to do it without using revenues from expanded gambling, imposing new state taxes or requiring an election for any local taxes.

The demonstrated pro-gambling sentiment at previous meetings disappeared Thursday, when all but one member voted to strike references to a new casino as a way to increase stadium financing.
