Foes not backing down on casino fight - 2004-01-05
Members of Citizens Concerned About Casino Gambling know they're in for an intense fight against well-moneyed opposition, but they are not about to back off.

Leaders of the regional organization claimed it has been campaigning against casino gaming in Rhode Island for 27 years and with the prospect of a statewide vote this year that could open the door to such a large-scale operation, the grassroots organization wants to step up its efforts.

Angeles cops attack illegal gambling - 2004-01-05
Police executed 24 raids that resulted in the filing of 31 cases of illegal gambling last year.
In a year-end report released by Senior Supt. Jimmy Restua, it was shown that 141 persons were also arrested for jueteng and P34,944.50 in bets were seized from illegal gambling operations.

Several units of video camera machines were also confiscated in the conduct of the city police’s drive against illegal gambling.
