Chin is head of Gambling Commission - 2004-01-07
Mr Chin will take on the chief commissioner position of the Gambling Commission from March 1. It is an independent, statutory, decision-making body established under the Gambling Act.

The commission will licence casinos and act as an appeal authority on decisions relating to the licensing and enforcement of non-casino gambling. It will also advise Internal Affairs Minister George Hawkins on gambling issues.

Casino boat seeks buyer - 2004-01-07
SunCruz Casinos is trying to recruit a buyer to take over the company from Chapter 11, but the change shouldn't affect its operation in Little River, the company indicated.

Ventures LLC, which is owned by SunCruz Casinos LLC, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. If the business and assets are sold as one, the boat would be able to continue operating even though Horry County has a moratorium on new casino boats.
