County Expects Unity On Casino Gambling - 2004-01-09
Prince George's County legislators are attempting to create a common front to shape the fate of legalized gambling in Maryland, with several legislators threatening to cancel any plans for slot machines unless complete casinos are part of the deal.
Although sharp differences exist, many of the county's 23 delegates and senators favor slots or casinos in principle and are seen as a key voting bloc that could decide the outcome of the gambling debate when the General Assembly meets next week for its annual legislative session.
