Nevada casinos show huge revenue gain - 2004-02-11
A state report Wednesday on major Nevada hotel-casinos proved cost-cutting to cope with a sluggish economy helped to reap a big gain in earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, to $3.68 billion in fiscal 2003.

The latest statistics in the unaudited report "are very positive -- but keep in mind the comparison to the extremes of the previous year where the bottom fell out on the revenue side and casinos still had a lot of expenses," the Control Board's Frank Streshley declared.
