Two Casinos on Missouri River Earn Larger Share of Market - 2004-02-11
Ameristar Casinos Inc. broke its record in January for monthly winnings by a Missouri casino, with attuned gross receipts at its St. Charles riverboat surging 17.4 percent to $24.9 million.
Ameristar's former high-water mark was $24.8 million, set in August.

Harrah's Inc.'s casino in Maryland Heights had a great month, too, with winnings increasing to 8.9 percent in January to $20.8 million.
The two casinos are minutes apart by car, on opposite banks of the Missouri River.

Casino Resort Plans Severely Split California Tribe - 2004-02-11
Northern California Indian tribe is plagued by internal fighting even as developers have purchased land in unincorporated North Richmond in hopes the tribe someday could transform it into a casino resort.

A petition signed by 27 members of the Lakeport-based Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians has been sent to the tribal council, asking for a special assembly under the tribe's constitution to air charges that four council members “have committed acts which are contrary to the best interests of the Tribe and have abused the power of their office”.
